5 Baking Gift Ideas for People Losing Weight
Every New Year people make a resolution to lose weight. While I’m not making resolutions, one of my goals is to lose 50lbs by the end of the year.
When you tell people you’re losing weight or others tell you that they’re on the diet, it can mean food or baking gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, and thank yous are completely off the list. The truth is they don’t need to be.
Here are five baking gift ideas for people losing weight.
Make a Fruit Cake
No, I don’t make the traditional cake used for Christmas and Christenings. I actually mean create a cake out of fruit! These are absolutely delicious and healthy at the same time.
Start with some type of melon as the main part of the cake. Get rid of the skin and take off part of the bottom so that it stands on the cake stand right. You’ll want to slice it enough to get into the middle and take out the seeds if you’re using a melon other than a watermelon!
You can use the bottom part of the melon later.
Now decorate with other pieces of fruit. Kiwis can be cut into the shape of leaves and pineapples cut in the shape of flowers for some beautiful decorations. You can always opt for skewers to make fruit kebabs and pop them into your melon base.
Don’t forget to throw strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries over the top for some decoration. You can also place them around the bottom in place of the frosting that would usually end up on the cakes!
Yes, people on a diet really do appreciate these types of cakes. Well I and many other friends on diets have appreciated them in the past. They show you care and have thought about the issue of chocolates, cakes, and everything else when it comes to losing weight.
Look for Their Diet Friendly Treats
You’ll usually find some treats that are friendly for a specific diet. I’m doing Weight Watchers and all I need to do is Google “Weight Watchers chocolate ideas” or “Weight Watchers cakes” and there will be something that pops up.
Dieters have blogged and pinned recipes all over the internet. They find something that they love to make or want others to make for them. They give ideas for others on those particular diets so they don’t feel like they’re missing out.
Why not do your own Google search and find some recipes that you can follow for your friend or loved one on a particular diet? It takes effort but it is so worth it!
Find Ways to Supplement Ingredients
There are usually supplemental ingredients available. You’ll even find recipes online that involve supplementing certain ingredients.
Look out for sugar free cookies or diet friendly cakes. You’ll be surprised at the options available!
Again, they will take time to find and make. You’ll need to be committed to doing something like this, but the person receiving the gift will know how much hard work you put into making sure they love their diet friendly gift.
Look Out for Diet Friendly Snacks in the Supermarket
You don’t have to bake your gifts for those losing weight. With diets becoming so popular, there are now various items already in the supermarkets. Weight Watchers and Slimming World products tend to be widely available, but there are also sugar free and other “diet” options out there.
Do look at ingredients to make sure the items are suitable for certain dietary requirements. For example, sugar free products may not be suitable for someone who is gluten intolerant!
You can get a selection of weight loss friendly cakes and treats and piece together your own selection box as your gift.
Opt for the Appliances Instead
Fitbit Charge 2 Heart Rate + Fitness Wristband, Black, Large
Depending on who you’re buying for, you could opt for the appliances instead of baking gifts for people losing weight. Think carefully about the message you send with the gift you buy.
If your friend loves home DVD workouts, you could always get another one for her collection. Maybe you have a sibling who has been eying up a Nutribullet for smoothies or a child who would love one of the new FitBits.
Magic Bullet NutriBullet 12-Piece High-Speed Blender/Mixer System
There are you! Five ideas for baking gifts for people losing weight. Okay, so they’re not all items that you bake but they four of them will work for baking—the appliances will help the recipient bake their own treats!
